Digital Instruction Librarian

The JKM Library is seeking a Digital Instruction Librarian. The position is responsible for producing and mounting instructional library LibGuides and videos,and teaching patrons how to produce instructional videos for ministry and research, how to use and evaluate the library’s technology and digital resources, and how to curate privately procured digital resources. The Digital Instruction Librarian will be an educator, advocate, and entrepreneur for digital resources by being accessible to masters students, doctoral students, and faculty. The Digital Instruction Librarian reports to the Director of the Library and works with other library staff to serve the students, faculty, and staff of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and McCormick Theological Seminary.

Candidates for this position must have an ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science or related field, the ability to work with and teach people from diverse ethnic, racial, and theological backgrounds; knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their applications for libraries, the ability to produce instructional videos, and the ability to fluently speak and read Spanish. Knowledge of and ability to use resources for theological research is preferred.
